In this image, the Galactic Center of the Milky Way is directly above Bell Rock in Sedona, Arizona. Courthouse Rock is the large formation to the left of Bell Rock. Sedona is known for its Red Rock formations and these are two of the most popular. Sedona has hundreds of miles of hiking trails within the city limits. Many of the better known trails have trailheads with parking lots. Yavapai Vista is one of those trailheads. This vantage point is not far from the parking lot. The image was captured around 2:30 AM.
Al Judge is a professional photographer and best-selling author living in Sedona, Arizona. In March 2012, the Sedona Area Guild of Artists (SAGA) included Al in their list of the Best Artists of Sedona 2012. Al's work is no longer on display in galleries in Sedona, Arizona, but he still sells prints locally and online. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and was in charge of New Products Concepts (corporate innovator) for Black & Decker for 23 years prior to his early retirement in 2001. In 2007, Al published his first book "Innovation's Missing Link" based on his personal experience at Black & Decker as well as his time as a Board Member of PDMA.
